This recording was taken on dangar island shoreline. It features the gentle lapping ocean on the beach with the occasional jumping fish. The recording was taken with a tascam dr-44wl and the onboard xy mic pair. Post recording the sound was cleaned up a bit with rx spectral de-noise, and then normalised.

This one is easy to do but hard to explain. . . In order to make this sound i pucker up my lips so that my upper teeth are against my lower lip. The i breath in softly which makes that cute noise (that's also why you hear breathing against the mic after. ) hope you all like ;).

Shell casings being dropped onto a tiled floor. I got some shell casings from a local shooting range and recorded the sound of various sized casings bouncing on a tiled floor. I used a usb condenser mic (samson co1u pro) with audacity. The section of floor i dropped the shells onto was surrounded by acoustic panels to dampen the echos. A couple times the casing bounced into the mic stand, but i've left them in because they're still useful. There was some background noise caused by my computer which i removed with audacity.

Here is a gas meter on a restaurant. I managed to get a chunk without much background noise here but i do change the mic position part way through the recording. . You'll notice it gets darker, then change it back. There's enough of each to get a good loop going as i have in the past. Recorded with a zoom h4.

Urban rooster from portland, or calls at 0:01, 1:20, 3:08, and 5:25 with an array of sounds in between: airplanes overhead, cars driving by, assorted bird chirps and caws, and even some wind boom-noise to play with. I needed a rattle-snake sound for a tracklay so recorded myself shaking my salt and pepper grinders. Considering i recorded this on a stereo mic in the bedroom of my two-bed flat, i think it came out pretty well!.
